Every detail matters.1:14You can't just go through a Michael Jackson move casually.1:18I met with Rich and Tone, who are Michael's choreographers,1:21and we were wondering, can Jafar really do this?1:24Can he really do the most iconic moves the world has seen?1:28Land like this.1:30Yeah.1:30I'm always on the wrong side.1:31And Jafar said, just give me some time.1:36I love challenges, and I wanted to prove to myself, my family, and the filmmakers that I can do this.1:44That control of the weight shift, the smoother it's going to look.1:49I started to rehearse for hours and hours upon hours until one single move was right.1:55Dancing until my feet would bleed or them go numb.1:59There's so many times I would wake up sore,2:02be like, should I go rehearse?2:04Should I just take a break and let the body relax?2:07Then the other part of my mind would be like,2:09no, what would Michael do?2:11Let's do it again.2:12Yeah I missed that Yeah yeah Jafar never stopped dancing He was rehearsing all the way up to the moment we started filming It natural It a flow All together I remember looking in the mirror right before we going on stage2:25I had the full hair, makeup, and wardrobe.2:27And I had a couple moments to myself just saying, like, wow,2:30I'm really here.2:31There's no going back.2:33It's time to go out there and put on the best show ever.2:40That is what I want the world to feel.2:44Magic.2:52Michael, his life is epic.2:55And to become the king of pop, it's an amazing journey.2:59The challenge of taking on someone like Michael Jackson,3:03it sounded fun, but then the more real it got, the more pressure I felt.3:08Going through this process of who can play Michael,3:11how do you even start with that?3:14And then of course, I meet Jafar Jackson.3:16I always tell everybody, how we start is how we finish.3:20So the start was the fire.3:23Day one, all I could think of was,3:28Ken Jafar really pulled us off.3:31Man, when the music started, and he hit those first few moves,3:37I mean, this guy killed it.3:38I looked at Graham, and Graham looked at me.3:40I was like, who is this guy?3:44I never dreamed to be an actor or even thought of playing him, but I knew it was a calling.3:54Embodying Michael, I really had to earn the role and prove to the filmmakers that I was3:58capable of becoming Michael.4:01You know, essentially it was starting at the roots and finding that authenticity.4:07He took it to a level that none of us thought he could take it to.4:11That's part of the magic of Jafar.4:12He has the desire.4:13Michael to be the best.4:15Oh!4:17Cut.4:18Level one.4:19Let's go.4:19Yeah.4:20That's it.4:22That's amazing.4:23I felt that love for Michael every day on set,4:25from the crew and the cast.4:27Everybody had that love and wanted4:29to put all their heart and soul into it.4:31I believe that music.4:32We can change the world With Jafar you can see how much he cares That what makes him so special And whatever that spirit of Michael he bringing is present and everyone on the team can feel it None of us would be here today if it wasn for Jafar4:46This is what I was put on earth to do.5:06I remember as a kid, seeing Uncle Michael on stage and how loud that arena was.5:16and the sound of the fans screaming.5:19I just saw the love that they had for Michael and my family.5:23This is all a part of who we are.5:28His music, the dance moves, the determination.5:32I wanted to recreate that in the film for everyone to experience.5:37There's no other way to tell Michael's story out of being epic.5:41He was always larger than life.5:43life. It's a story about creativity. So every song, every performance we chose, it was moving5:50Michael along a journey. This is rigor and performance and respect and charisma and the5:59camera moves and the details, everything. Let's go out there and tear that stage up. Give the6:06audience the best show ever.
